Maker and Monger
Alpine nostalgia for the chapel of cheese.
Maker & Monger has been a fixture of Prahran Market since 2015, when it began as a food cart serving raclette and grilled cheese. When owner and cheesemonger Anthony Femia set out to build a new, larger home with a purpose-built maturation room, a seven-metre cheese counter and a full menu, we worked with him to create a new visual world that captured his reverence for cheese and the people who make it.
Inspired by vintage Swiss and Italian travel posters, the identity brings alpine nostalgia to the counter through textured finishes, typography and custom illustration. That spirit carries across every touchpoint, from cheese talkers and wrapping paper to store signage, giving each its own distinct character.
